Does anyone use the aac+ streams? It's just that I've found a cheaper way to do MP3 streams but I haven't yet been able to get aac+ working yet and will probably take them off.

No sure don't Gav. Just as the others, I use the 128k stream. But I also like answer#3, because outside knowing its a programming language, I really do not know what the fuck AAC+ is,...lol
AAC+ is a digital audio format which is basically an alternative to MP3 - a 32k AAC+ stream is almost as good as 128k MP3 (so uses less bandwidth for the same audio quality).
Unfortunately, despite being around for a good few years now, people still don't recognise it like they do MP3 and there are only ever 1 or 2 people listening to our AAC+ streams. Maybe the world just isn't ready for it yet.
I would keep it on, but I've found a cheaper way to re-encode MP3 for the lower bitrate streams but it doesn't support AAC+. I'm not really prepared to spend £70 a month just on transcoding some streams that are never used, but if I can find a cheaper way in future then I might bring them back.

Well now that I know that, I want to try it. I constantly multi-task, stretching the limits of my bandwidth, so if it uses less then I should be using it,...lol. Thanx for the info Gav

Yes, I do!
Please don't scrap the AAC+ stream; this is the only way I can jam UKB on my big stereo - my friggin Soundbridge will only play stuff that my computer sends over from Itunes, and via this complicated scenario I can go from humble to rumble. Otherwise I'm left with only my corny PC speakers doing the work. I'm sure you understand when I say they are simply not adequate...

itunes might play MP3... dunno - but whenever I open the 128k stream or others, it automatically uses my WMP and I don't know how to get it to open with itunes. The AAC stream uses itunes automatically.
