thats a great idea. money would be the issue tho. Gonna need funds to set it up and advertise the tunes ect. with the amount of listeners there are it would be a great opportunity. another problem is the selection of artists and who decides whats good enuff or not ect. this could cause problems although idealy DJ Overload would have the final say. maybe the way around this is to have a second label for the 'almost made it's'. this way the best tunes would get maximum exposure and then the secondary label would be in the back ground. UKBassRecordings....hmmm...i like the ring to that

just my 2 pennies

do it as a free to download net label, and release stuff on a creative commons license, less money to be put in, less stress etc, and make it more about exposing new artists instead of just being yet another d&b label

think of it more as a wy to get the people on this sites music more into the public eye and a chance of getting songs signed to more experienced labels

i dont mind sifting through demos aswell to help with the load if this goes ahead

Its not hard to get a label going tho. I started releasing my tracks on Beats Digital, then Juno and now i have the contract for trackitdown to start selling on there too. If Gav wanted to do a label for Mp3 downloads it would be simple. Any 1 who gets a release earns say XXX amount of cash per release, UKB gets XXX and the rest goes to the websites for there cut and costs, etc. Unless gav were to just sell them through UKB then Monies would increase to each party. It cost me nothing to start selling my tracks, and if people don't want to set up there own label this would be a great way to get some stuff released. Obviously the issue of what would be released and who would have the final word would have to be addressed. I think Gav as it is his radio station!! lol
