hey Overload ('n admins)
i was just wondering, why it says on the front page that the dj live times are (GMT+0100) when UK standards are GMT+0000 ????

atleast according to this map it is GMT+0000 in the UK :S

because if the dj schedule is really +0100 it would fit the timezone in Denmark, but it doesn't so something is wierd Smile

have just wondered about it for a while. and thougt you should know Smile

peace

The current UK time is BST (British summer time), NOT GMT.
When the clocks went forward for the summer, they changed from GMT to BST. In the autumn they will be GMT again. BST is GMT + 1 hour. (equivalent to 'daylight savings time', if you're a yank)

Times are always UK time, this avoids confusion for the DJs as they are all based in the UK

As Martin said, we are currently on British Summer Time not GMT - I put GMT+1 on the site so that international listeners can work out their local time if they don't know what BST is.

I'll look in to doing some kind of system that calculates your local time zone.

It should always be GMT in my opinion, I don't see the point of chaning it. But somewhere round October/November time it will all be back to normal again.

Yeah, fuck the farmers, what percentage of the population are actually farmers these days anyway? and don't they realise that modern tractors have these things on the fron, they're like really bright candles that light themselves when you flick a switch from inside the tractor then they light up everything in front of the tractor as if it were daytime - and then you can see! it's brilliant, FUCKING BRILLIANT I TELL THEE!

And I know what you're thinking, "won't the horses get in the way of the light?" - well, no - you don't even need horses to pull the tractor - It moves itself without the horses - it's amazing, FUCKING AMAZING I TELL THEE!

It's not about farmers at all, at least not for the last 50 years...
I've read that the reason is people are more willing to go shopping etc after work if it is lighter. That is also the reason behind people wanting to have BST during the winter as well Mad
They just want us all to shop more. Rolling Eyes

lol your summer/winter-time system is funny...
do you always write GMT summer/wintertime oficially?

Its implemented in GMT, that you do your summer/winter-time 1h forward/rewind in every timezone, so infact you are still playing by GMT +0000, just with your "summertime forward" +1h.

or am i getting it wrong? Confused

Its just, you write it, like you are in the central Europe timezone when you write "GMT +0100"(Paris, Copenhagen, Berlin, etc) and that might confuse some listeners from different timezones. UK GMT will ALLWAYS be GMT +0000. I dunno if you catch my drift Smile

If you want to write it with BST it would be BST in the summer time, and BST -0100 in the winter time?

but nvm, i know the schedule and when the DJ's play, it was just to help new users from outside your timezone Smile

Funny thought (am joking about this):
do you go around all year with fx wintertime installed on your clock and when its summertime you still have it on wintertime and have to do the +1h math every time you look at your clock in the summer?? Laughing Very Happy Very Happy

i really stirred in the pot with this thread Laughing

cheers Very Happy
