Some people are free from external forces (physically free). Some people are free from internal forces (mentally free). Very few people are free from both. Nobody is free from the laws of science.

The question is :"At what point does my freedom impinge on another person's freedom - and therefore nullify such freedom?" |

Although, "They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security" People should be free, where that freedom does not infringe on the freedom of others, in the cases where that infringement would be difficult to mitigate. All of this should be treated with a very large dose of common sense (however difficult that is to define). The government's job is to protect you from other people, and to protect other people from you, NOT to protect anyone from themselves. |

Does anybody really and truly hav freedom over their own property though? yes its true people have freedom to do whatever they please, but the right to use that freedom is discouraged by the government and the social implications of peer pressure, so what is freedom? |

O.K., to finally answer Jungalicious“question. THE Freedom does not exist. I don“t believe in freedom but in cause and effect. |

The post by CS really resonated with me, being transient myself and owning very few possessions as well...even now.

We are all the same thing! We are all free from everything part from the people that think there not because the way we have evolved. We are getting close to self awareness of what we are, everything (nature) is one not individual, which is what we are but experienced in the 3rd dimennsion. This may not make sense to alot of people, true, because if it did I wouldnt be saying this. Check out Grant Morrison on YouTube for a insight in what I say.

It will deep if your ready to know but will make sense str8 away. We can change the world, We will change the world. Counter-Culture has shadoweed from us from what we are for 200 yearsish. Keep on banging the tunes out! smile from da Blak Yes...I agree with you when you say we are all one...part of the same thing...one love. However, the beauty of life and the here and now is we have the choice to be an individual or be a huge gear in the corporate wheel of society. I choose to ride a bicycle instead of drive my car because I do not agree with mass murder to gain control of OIL. I choose not to support Wal-Mart or McDonalds and I do not look like everyone else or care about "fashion" and so much what others think. I am free to make my own choices...the choices which mold and shape me to be the INDIVIDUAL that I am... Although I know I am one with all...for the moments when I connect with this common place in space and time is when I feel most alive. |

Fine, the answer is No and you knew it all along. We are all slaves in some form or another, Period. We cannot govern our lives freely- society does. always has always will. now we of likemindedness have the ability to revel in our "uniqueness" but still we are players in this vicious cycle. sad to think we feel free because we have yet to experience the harshest form of slavery. but hey, let's dance...[/quote]
